On 1st January 2012 the new Model Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations come into effect. There will be a 12 month compliance time for all organisations, large and small, to update their OHS Systems and paperwork to match the new requirements. For the time being continue to do risk assessments on new, high risk and changing tasks, as you always have, and follow your current OHS systems to keep your employees and yourself safe!
Training for OHS employee representatives, to be called health and safety representatives HSR's, is still being developed by NSW WorkCover and once it has been relaeased we will publish the new training requirements and notify all our clients of the changes.
